RESIDENTS from St Breward were invited to celebrate the centenary of the foundation of the Women’s Institute.

Members of St Breward WI were joined by representatives from clubs and organisations for a ‘traditional’ tea of sandwiches, jelly and cakes in the village hall.

A celebratory birthday cake was cut by longest serving member Margaret Willetts and the current president Fran Calver.

After tea the party was entertained to a performance of ‘The Golden Fish’, a Russian Folk Tale, performed by St Breward WI’s own Penny Puppets, who were directed by Christine Woolf.
