THE village lights committee of St Teath had a busy weekend with members out in force getting the village square ready for the big switch on.

The lights will be switched on by a 'very important and special' member of the community at 6pm on Saturday, November 29.

The committee has spent more than £1,000 on new lights for the village this year.

Once again this year there will be a festive Christmas market from 3.30pm with lots of stalls selling items for Christmas along with plenty of festive food and drink on sale from 4.30pm.

Father Christmas will be dropping by for a quick visit during the event.

There will be a grand Christmas raffle with prizes to include an iPad mini, a luxury festive drinks hamper and a luxury chocolate hamper and the winning tickets will be drawn on the evening of the switch on.
