SOLDIERS who died during the first world war were remembered at a service near St Breward. The commemoration service, held near the village war memorial atop Mine Hill, was preceded by the church bells ringing and concluded with a display by the Launceston based WW1 Living History Group, a small group of enthusiasts re-enacting life in the trenches. The event was organised by St Breward History Group. The group was awarded a grant from Heritage Lottery Fund earlier this year to help with its exhibition '1914 and beyond — the effect of the Great War on the parish of St Breward'.
