YEOLMBRIDGE held a 'village get-together' on Monday, March 21 to raise money for ShelterBox, helping the people of Japan.

It was Pat Fletcher, a resident of Yeolmbridge, who came up with the idea of a 'get together' to fundraise for charity. In the space of a week, leaflets and posters were handed out and put through the doors of homes in the village, inviting them to enjoy bread and cheese and, if they wished, take their own drink for a 'get together'.

A ShelterBox was borrowed for the evening, which allowed everyone to see the contents and a DVD of the work that ShelterBox do was shown.
