ON A perfect crisp, clear evening on Monday, more than 150 residents from St Breward and surrounds packed the centre of the village to celebrate the switching on of the Christmas lights.

Father Christmas had taken time out of his busy schedule yet again to visit the village, chatting to the children and distributing gifts before carnival queen Nicola and her attendants Megan, Daisy and Freya led the crowd in the countdown to switch on the lights.
