A dust devil was filmed spinning through Blackthorn campsite in Delabole a few days ago.

A dust devil is a small, short-lived, whirlwind of air that picks up dust or debris from the ground.

The Kernow Weather Team explained: "They usually occur on hot and dry days when the ground is heated up, and the warm air rises quickly, creating a swirling column of air.

"Dust devils are not usually dangerous, but they can cause minor damage to property and are a hazard to aviation.

"They are also fascinating to watch and can be quite beautiful in their own way."
