THE annual Lezant Horticultural Show was greeted with a beautiful summer’s day on Saturday, August 13, and was opened by local butcher Phillip Warren, who was accompanied by his wife Margaret.
The marquee was an array of vibrant colours and delicious smells as people gathered to the tent to see the beautiful flowers, wonderful cookery, fantastic handicraft and colourful fruit, vegetables and pot plants.
The standard was extremely high this year, and many people commented on this.
Launceston Town Band played magnificently throughout the afternoon and Professor Goodvibes entranced the children with a wonderful Punch and Judy show.
Additionally, there were car boot stalls, as well as traditional games including tin can alley, balls in a bucket and many others.
Dylan and Zebedee, two local donkeys, came to be admired and stroked, and the local children enjoying petting them. There were also kittens to look at from the Cats Protection League.
Cornwall Air Ambulance were also in attendance, along with Shelter Box, Launceston First Aiders, Chris George, who gave a wood turning demonstration, and Parade Plants who brought a lovely selection of plants and related items.
A wonderful day was had by all.
