DESPITE the terrible weather and a sudden change of venue, the opening event, the spring fayre and dog show, took place and turned out to be a huge success — thankfully Camelford Hall offered its services.
The previous night’s storm left many people with no water supply. However, the WI rallied around to make sure everyone had refreshments for the duration.
Many craft stalls displayed their wares, including face painting, the annual duck race, a human fruit machine, and the Royal British Legion Camelford branch ran an old fashioned fair games stall.
Chair of event, Kirsty Ferguson, said: “Despite a mad panic to ring around with a change of venue, everyone turned up and a great day was enjoyed by all. I can only thank Camelford for its support on such an unusual day.
“The Labrador Trust ran a fun, successful dog show and thanked everyone for their understanding and patience.”
