Two bins and a carousel from Enfield Park were heavily damaged and then thrown into the river by unknown vandals. Brian Groves, Camelford Town Council clerk, said: "The carousel was taken off its stand and then thrown into the river along with the park's two waste bins and the seesaw was also twisted." He added: "This is the second time the bins have been thrown into the river however, the extent of the damage is much worse." Mr Groves said that, in total the damage caused to the play equipment and bins will cost over £13,000, the money needed to replace the equipment is going to be funded from the grant that Camelford Town Council had designated for the park. Mr Groves explained how it is highly likely that the vandals are also responsible for the smashing of a window of a pick-up truck on the same night, that is always located in Churchfield Car Park, this will cost another £400.
