A BREASTFEEDING group in Launceston has been awarded a grant of £500 from Skipton Building Society's Grassroots Giving programme.
Up Front Launceston was one of hundreds of applicants and after being shortlisted, was profiled on the building society's website, which asked the public to vote for the community group they thought was most deserving.
Up Front aims to empower and support mothers to breastfeed or provide breast milk for their babies for as long as they choose.
The grant will be used towards a course training more mothers in the area to support each other.
Louise Hunt, chairperson, said: "The training will enable mums to support others via listening.
"We are non-judgemental, open-minded, consistently welcoming friendly faces. We are here to listen, to give non-judgemental support and, when appropriate, to share our own varied experiences."
