PANCRASWEEK-based author and musician, Brian Crane has recently released two books titled The Ballad of Jessie Gray and other stories and Beneath the Fickle Moon.
The Ballad of Jessie Gray and other stories tells the tale of a ghost, Jessie Gray, who finds a piece of paper while there are seven other independent stories, which are set from 1937 up to the present day.
Beneath the Fickle Moon, which is written in poetry form, focuses on Jasper, a colly dog who works on a farm. He has to put up with a drunken owner, but can he escape?
Brian, 65, who originally comes from Shrewsbury in Shropshire and is a former teacher, has had his fair share of success on the music scene. In the 1970s he was part of the band Paper Bubble and has mixed with famous bands such as rock band the Strawbs, which included the likes of Rick Wakeman and Dave Cousins, and still writes and records music.
He’s also just finished his third book, Betrayal Of the Trinity Knight, which will be out in February and is halfway through his fourth — Still Beneath the Fickle Moon — a sequel.
Brian said: “The books have gone quite well so far so I’m pretty pleased.”
Brian’s books are available from the Spencer Thorn Bookshop in Bude, on Amazon and on download.
