A?VILLAGE?primary school in?Torridge could have its future safeguarded by becoming part of an academy trust, parents were told at a meeting last week.
A consultation process is currently taking place on the future of Pyworthy?Primary School, which entered special measures following an Ofsted rating of inadequate last year.
The consultation may result in a decision to close the school.
The Church of England school, maintained by Devon County Council, is currently in the Holsworthy Federation, which it joined in 2011.
A drop-in information session took place last Wednesday at Pyworthy Village Hall, with representatives from the school's governing body and the county council.
