Treburley Social Club was successful in its application to the Ruth Burden Community Trust for a grant to fit a defibrillator to the exterior of the building.
Lezant Parish Council also secured a grant from Cornwall Council. The unit was ordered from Heartsafe and fitted by Thomas Jefferies.
Thomas has very kindly asked that the cost, of installation and his time, be donated to a charity of his choice.
Thanks were also expressed to Nic Jefferies and Jane Ackerley for taking on the role of defibrillator guardians. As guardians they check the unit on a regular basis and make sure it is maintained in good working order.
The official unveiling took place on Sunday, July 29. Cream teas were served to mark the occasion. The unit is fully functioning and ready for anyone to use.
