AFTER the recent record breaking storms and constant low pressure systems slamming the coasts, Widemouth Task Force beach clean organiser Ado Shorland decided to rally his troops on Saturday, January 11 and descend on Widemouth Bay to remove the marine debris which has been deposited onto the beaches, car parks and sand dunes.

Some 58 hard working volunteers helped clear a staggering 120 bags of plastics, netting and polystyrene in a three hour period in the rare winter sun.

Ado said: "This special group of people are prepared to give their free time to make our beaches a better place to visit for locals and tourists alike, and also a safer environment for marine wildlife such as seals and dolphins."
