FOUR members of the Lamerton Pony Club made a triumphant start to the tetrathlon season. Rebecca Potter (Ashwater), Hannah Gribble (Lifton), Adam Sandercock (Launceston) and Alice Warring (Werrington), competed on March 28 and 29 for the first Tetrathlon of the season in Truro, which was kindly hosted by the Four Burrow Hunt — and all came away with fantastic results.
Saturday consisted of three phases — shooting, swimming and running. A Personal best swim left Hannah an intermediate lying sixth, best shoot kept Adam in the seniors 1st, and consistency with Rebecca fourth and Alice ninth also in the seniors was an excellent result.
Sunday soon came, and the Cross Country Course was up to height for all classes, so this determined the overall scores for our Lamerton team.
Adam and Becca both having best rides round the 3.6ft course pushed Becca into second position and Adam left to win! Hannah also went clear round the 3.3ft course, upping her result into winning the intermediate class! The mixed team came third overall, so therefore it was an excellent result to leave the day with two first and a second. Well done to you all.
Adam and Becca alongside two of our other members, Rob and Kennan Fowlie have all been selected to go on this years British Tetrathlon Training camp, being held at Millfield this Easter. Only 12 boys and 12 girls have been selected across the country to go, so Lamerton Hunt are extremely proud that out of 24 Tetrathletes, four of them are our members.
