HOLSWORTHY & District Lions Club has elected three new presidents as it prepares to celebrate 40 years of service.
During the March business meeting of the Holsworthy & District Lions Club a new president was elected to take on office in July.
The club’s treasurer, John Cottle, will take over from current president, Brian Withall this summer.
For the first time in five years, the Lions also elected a vice-president and second vice-president. This means that the office of president is organised for at least the next three years.
Past president Ray Fursdon will take over from John Cottle in July 2017 with Regimental Sergeant Major Ted England to become president in July 2018 – provided he is back home from his current posting in Wales.
On April 23, the Holsworthy & District Lions will be celebrating its 40th anniversary at their annual Charter Dinner.
The club was officially founded in 1975 but wasn’t chartered until St George’s Day the following year.
Only one of the original Charter Members, former Holsworthy Portreeve Phil Cole, is currently a member of the club.
The club has extended an invitation to all former members, and their families, to join them at the upcoming Charter dinner on Saturday, April 23, at the Memorial Hall in Holsworthy.
Club secretary Andy Townsend hopes to get in contact with all past members over the next couple of weeks.
Anyone interested in attending can contact Andy Townsend by email on [email protected]
