A CHURCH has been rededicated following extensive refurbishment.
A special service was held at Tintagel United Methodist Church on Sunday to celebrate the work which has given the church a colourful uplift.
The renovation was feasible thanks to a legacy left to the chapel by Phyllis Johnson (Johnny), who died in 2007. She was a much-loved and admired member of the congregation.
Managed by Holsworthy-based architects, Trewin Design, the chapel and Sunday School have new roofs, a new lighting system has been installed and new carpets and cushions blend in with the colour scheme.
The Rev Bryan Ede welcomed everyone at a short opening ceremony which was held in the front porch. David Tiddicott from Trewin Design Partnership handed the key to Raymond Sleep, the oldest member of the congregation to declare the chapel re-opened.
