WITH regard to South West Water's proposal to build a combined sewage treatment works at Trevalga, to process the effluent from Boscastle and Tintagel, I wish to inform your readers that a public meeting will be held on site at 11am on Thursday, December 18.

The proposed site is situated adjacent to the B3623 about a quarter of a mile from Trevalga Crossroads in the direction of Tintagel. Parking will not be available at the site, but will be available in the village of Trevalga, which is situated just below the crossroads.

The village hall will be open from 10am, where people will be invited to gather prior to the meeting. Tea or coffee (with biscuits) will be available at the village hall after the site meeting. Everyone will be welcome.

We, as the TATAS (Trevalga and Trethevy Against Sewage) Action Group, feel strongly that this beautiful area should remain unspoilt and not decimated by South West Water.

It is, after all, in an area designated as one of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and is in the most prominent position on the tourist route between Boscastle and Tintagel, and the land involved is listed as a medieval field strip enclosure, which we wish to preserve for future generations.

We would urge anyone who is familiar with the area and who feels strongly about this obscene proposal, to come along on the day to register their objections with the planning committee, as they will be given a chance to speak.

Chairman,

TATAS,

Trevalga.
