A charity evening was held at Michael House in Treknow on January 27, which raised £1,000 for ShelterBox. The event included an auction, raffle, refreshments and sale. The £1,000 comprised £757 raised on and around the evening, and £91 was added from collections by the Treknowans group. The remainder was generously donated by Reg Climo to top the total up to allow two ShelterBoxes to be paid for. Vanessa Lackford said: "Many thanks to everyone, and to Mel Rowe and Lesley Barley in particular. Shelter Box is a fantastic organisation, with vision and integrity and it is based in Cornwall. We wish them all the best in the wonderful work they are doing to help people after the horrendous earthquake in Haiti."
