Four members of Lower Landsker Trefoil Guild, Margaret Peake, Nicole Evans, Barbara Morris and Barbara Pegg, recently took part in the Race for Life at Scolton Manor on a dry, bright day.
We managed to cover the 5K in 50 minutes and are still in the process of collecting sponsorship for this worthy cause that touches everyone's lives (writes N.E.).
Having failed to get to Caldey in June, when we all enjoyed a beach walk and very long picnic instead, we were delighted when the first Wednesday in July dawned bright and sunny with no nasty Easterly winds!
Eight members enjoyed a beautiful morning's exploration of the island, and picnic lunch in the sunshine. Things began to deteriorate sadly and our cream tea was enjoyed under a large tree in the rain listening to the thunder.
The worsening rain meant a very wet boat-ride home, but we did not stop laughing all day. Girl Guides enjoy themselves whatever the weather, however old they are!
We take a break in August, but meet again in September. New members are always welcome. You don't have to have been a Guide or Brownie, just have an interest in helping the local units and having some fun along the way!
