THE Merlin MS Therapy Centre’s cream tea event, held at Pencary in St Teath, was blessed with glorious weather and stunning views of the surrounding countryside.
At the kind invitation of Alan and Yvonne Tew, the event saw various activities taking place throughout the day, attracting people of all ages, including the mini gauge railway.
Busy all afternoon, the railway had two steam engines and two diesel engines working to keep up with the demand.
Organisers Lorraine and David Jasper discovered that the day made a fantastic total of £1,135 from the generous donations.
Lorraine said: “I’m very grateful to Port Isaac Co-op for the scones donated, Wadebridge Tesco for the strawberries and to Trewithen Dairies for the cream. Colin from just around the corner baked some very tasty scones.”
Lorraine and David added: “All this could not be possible without the enormous amount of help given by all our friends in the village and surrounding area. You know who you are — thank you one and all!”
