HUNDREDS of people are expected to pass through the gates of the new Holsworthy Agribusiness Centre this week for the first livestock sale featuring more than 2,500 animals. The £7-million centre has been delivered on the outskirts of the town, a decade after plans for a new market were first discussed. Kivells has moved to the site from its town centre offices in Stanhope House and the estate agency is due to open in the Square later this month. David Kivell, director of Kivells and cattle auctioneer for 30 years, said the market had been a long time coming. "I am excited for the first market day because we have been waiting for this for a very long time — more than 10 years. Five years of planning, designing and meetings with architects and consultants — it's been long and laborious, but it's worth it." Antiques auctioneer Phil Walter held the first collectors sale at the site on Tuesday, which featured more than 750 lots, including stamps, coins, books and toys.
