THE funds from a tractor run deemed a ‘massive success’ will be divided between three causes.
At the end of January, 68 tractors and almost 100 supporters took part in the charity tractor run from the Countryman Inn near North Petherwin to Crackington Haven and back.
The event was in aid of Launceston Hospital, Cancer Research, and the NSPCC — each will receive £217.
Edward Horn, who helped to organise the run, with Peter Hatch, Adrian and Emma Barriball, said: “It was a massive success. There were 68 tractors and all enjoyed themselves.”
Mr Horn, who is a teacher specialising in PE at Tregadillett and Trekenner primary schools, will be running in this year’s London Marathon to help raise money for NSPCC.
He said his training is ‘going well’. It will be his first full marathon.
He said: “I joined the Launceston Road Runners a few months ago and they have given me plenty of good advice.
“I will just have to see what happens on the day.”
Anyone wishing to support Mr Horn can contact him either on twitter @MrHornRuns or 07725 580583.
Upcoming fundraising events for the NSPCC are bingo at the White Hart, Launceston, on Tuesday, March 8, at 7.30pm, and a band night at Trethorne on April 8, 7.30pm.
