A WEEK that shows Holsworthy at its best — the sentiment from many who joined hundreds of people to celebrate St Peter's Fair. The 173-year-old Pretty Maid tradition and Court Leet rituals continued like clockwork alongside events, including live music, arts and crafts and flower festival. Mayor of Holsworthy, John Allen said on St Peter's Fair Day: "It's been a fantasic day, with fantastic weather and tremendous support from community. I wish India, the Pretty Maid every success this year." Cookery demonstrations, the stocks, a World Cup themed market and competitions — there was something for everyone in the town square. Dan 'the fish man' Garnett gave a 'quick scollops on glass noodles' demonstration on stage with help from the audience. "It's always well received and it's just to feed people something different."
