CAMELFORD has long been recognised as a good holiday centre within easy reach of all the main attractions of North Cornwall and many walkers use the town as a base.
Over the years most of the walks have been signposted and walkers' guides produced.
These are now being updated in the hope that Camelford can become officially recognised by the national organisation called 'Walkers are Welcome'. It promotes walking centres through their website.
Camelford Town Team see the Walkers are Welcome initiative as another opportunity to increase the number of people using the town and to make people more aware of just how well sited it is between the moor and the coast for long or shorter walks in the countryside.
