A CAMELFORD Town Councillor has resigned after 18 years. Bonnie Grills, who manages Stephen's Home Hardware in the town, wrote to the council and said how privileged she has felt to be able to represent the town. She added: "It is after much soul searching that I have come to a decision that has not been taken lightly. "We as a council have seen more good times than bad. It has become apparent to me that we are becoming more governed by Cornwall Council restraints and the town council is not being listened to." Camelford mayor Cllr Andy Shaw wrote to Mrs Grills saying he was sorry to read her resignation letter. He added: "I value your input and experience and effort you put into the work involved with the council. "On my own behalf I thank you, but on behalf of Camelford I thank you for the dedication you have shown over many years to the responsibility of being a councillor." Council members bought flowers for Mrs Grills and the mayor presented her with a gift. The council said the vacancy will be advertised in the town in due course.
