The green-fingered skills of Holsworthy gardeners were rewarded recently.

The Holsworthy in Bloom competition was judged by Graham Andrews, of the North Devon Journal, and Ashley Woods, of Brooks Garden Centre, accompanied by deputy mayor Cllr John Hutchings.

Winners in the residential class were: Linda Russell, of Penhale Drive; second, Miriam Hibbard, of Wesley Road, and third Janet Punter, of Whimble Hill.

The winner of the commercial class was the King’s Arms.

Town mayor Cllr John Allen visited the winners to congratulate them and make the presentations. He said the judges had a very difficult task to choose between them.
