THE decision to close Camelford's Natwest branch will prove a costly and impractical one for many residents in the region, it has been claimed.

Natwest announced last week that the 'difficult decision' to shut the branch had been made — February 23 has been confirmed as the closing date.

Barry King, of Boscastle, was not happy to hear the news, and said it would have a big effect on the residents of Camelford and surrounding communities — many of whom will find transport to branches at Wadebridge or Launceston difficult.

He said:?"There will be a lot of people who feel the same. There is a large proportion of elderly residents and not everyone drives — some share taxis to go to the bank, the doctors, the Post Office."
