In the County Council elections, all three Ross-on-Wye Ward seats were taken by the Conservatives. Richard Mayo won Ross West Ward, Jenny Hyde won Ross North Ward, and Phil Cutter won Ross East Ward.

The Conservatives also won the County Council seats in the wards surrounding Ross-on-Wye. Birch, Kerne Bridge, Llangarron, Old Gore and Penyard each elected the Conservative candidate to represent them at County level.

The Conservatives gained an overall majority in County Council by four seats, and there will be a by election in Saxon Gate after the result was declared unsafe, due to spoiled ballot papers.

The Tories took 28 seats, while It's Our County took 12, the Independents won eight, and the Greens and the Lib Dems took two seats each.

To find out which Councillors won the seats on Ross Town Council, see this week's issue of the Ross Gazette.
