On Sunday March 29 the Royal Cornwall Goblets competition was held at Launceston Golf Club. This is a foursome medal event with teams playing off half their combined handicaps.

Results: 1st, Richard Knight & Ian Moore nett 65; 2nd, Martin Ryan & Alan Parker nett 66; 3rd, Peter Holland & David Price nett 68.5; 4th, Brian Alford & Dereck Basford nett 69.5; 5th, George Downing & John Whiteside nett 70.5; 6th, Mark Fear & Steve Mander nett 70.5.

The leading four pairs, together with the Captain & Vice-Captain, will play in the Royal Cornwall Goblets at Mullion Golf Club on Sunday May 10.

On Sunday April 5 there was a delay to the start due to misty conditions but when play commenced there were a number of good scores recorded.

Truscott Shield (for h/caps 19-28 ): 1st, Ian Huggins nett 70; 2nd, Les Clements nett 71; 3rd, Jamie Baker nett 71.

There has been an encouraging response to Launceston Golf Club's offer of three months golf for £114 inclusive of affiliation fees etc.
