Volunteers from Tintagel Memorial Playing Fields committee and friends have been working hard to raise aware and funds for their forthcoming Fun Run Event on May 31. So far a Cake Stall and Craft Fair have helped raise nearly £200 towards their event with all profits going to a number of charities and organisations — Cornish Hospice Care, Age Concern, Tintagel School Disco fund, Tintagel Memorial Playing Fields and Tintagel Surf Life Saving Club. The recent craft fair, held at Tintagel Social Hall, did not have the expected turn out but those who did attend had a wonderful time and experienced luxurious leg, back and hand massages, card readings, local crafts, clothing, lingerie and cards. Alison McGillivray, organiser, said: "Thank you to all who attended or donated gifts; your generosity is appreciated." The Fun Run Committee is also calling for people to pre-register and beat the queues at the fun run. Application forms can be downloaded at http://www.tmpfa.org">www.tmpfa.org, call into the Cornwall Hospice Care Shop in Tintagel, and other local shops and pubs or email [email protected]">[email protected]. Alison added: "Running isn't essential in the 5k run as many families entered last year with children on scooters bikes, pushchairs and baby carriers. So register and have a full family day out."
