BUSINESSMAN and owner of The Arundell Arms Hotel and Devon Hampers, Adam Fox-Edwards, has successfully completed a charity bike ride through South Africa's Drakensberg Mountains. Organised through Virgin Unite, Adam, and an old friend from the RAF, took part in the charity cycle through the Drakensberg Mountains, to raise money for local villagers in the area of Dumfries and for the Alzheimer's Association. Along with 50 other cyclists, Adam cycled on challenging terrain at more than 6,000 ft, through the mountains and through the Kruger National Park, where at one point the group cycled just 25 yards from a pride of eight lions. The cycle ride, which took place over four days from June 2 to June 5, saw the cyclists wild camping at night with South African winter temperatures dropping to zero degrees.
