THREE people were taken to hospital on Tuesday morning following a road traffic collision on the A39 at Wainhouse Corner.
Emergency services were called to a report of a three vehicle collision just after 8am. The vehicles involved were a red Honda Civic, a green Audi A3 and a green Skoda Octavia.
Three people were taken to Derriford Hospital, Plymouth — according to police, a man and his sister travelling in the Skoda were in a stable condition, and a man who was in the Honda was in a serious condition. All three are local to the North Cornwall area.
The road was closed and diversions put into place by Highways Agency staff. There were reports of icy roads at the time and gritting lorries were sent to the area. Collision investigators also attended.
Both fire brigade appliances from Bude and the rescue tender from Bodmin were called to the scene. Officers used crash rescue equipment to release the occupants of the vehicles.
