THERE are now three memorial benches in Stanhope Park, Holsworthy, thanks to a generous donation from Holsworthy British Legion raised via a local theatre group’s production ‘Lest We Forget’.

Holsworthy Amateur Theatrical Society (HATS) put on a performance last year that honoured those who served during the 1914 to 1918 conflict.

The money raised was split between Help For Heroes and the local branch of the Royal British Legion. HATS donated £1,250 to the Legion, which was topped up by the town council.

The Royal British Legion then used this funding to purchase the commemorative benches which were officially unveiled on Tuesday, October 1.

All the benches are made from 100% recycled plastic and one is even wheelchair friendly.
