IN their latest match the Jets faced another Titans team and knew it wasn't going to be as easy as the previous week as this time it was their first team and not their third.
However, nobody could have predicated the first quarter being so difficult as the Titans came out of the starting blocks extremely fast and before the Jets had time to work out who they were marking the first quarter was over in a flash leaving them feeling like they had hardly touched the ball and with the Titans racing to a 13 to nil lead.
Once the shock of the first quarter had dissipated the Jets settled a bit knowing that things couldn't get much worse and they managed to get the ball to Steph Dinshaw and Helen Newton in attack who converted their chances. This did not phase the Titans who continued their onslaught on the Jets goal and stretched their lead 26 - 6 by half time.
For the second week running the third quarter proved to be the Jets finest with the centre court players of Beth Wilde, Carrie Short and Kelly Swatton moving the ball superbly down the court to create good scoring opportunities which were well taken by the attackers and meant that the quarter finished 36 -14.
It was obvious that a comeback was impossible barring a major miracle but the Jets did not give up the fight and the defence of Kirsty Dawe and Vicky Innes gave promising signs that they can compete with the best attacks in league by restricting the Titans to only 8 goals in the final quarter.
Player of the match was awarded to Beth Wilde.
