LAUNCESTON District Rainbows, Brownies and Guides have taken part in a Thinking Day celebration at Launceston’s Town Hall.
Thinking Day is celebrated all around the world every year by Girl Guides and Scouts.
The girls took part in a variety of activities. This included chocolate fondue and decorating crowns. They all then enjoyed a piece of cake at the end.
Emily Creber was presented with her Queen’s Guide Award from Emma Boucher, her District Commissioner and Jill Jeff, North Cornwall Division Commissioner. It is the highest award members can work towards in Guiding.
Emily started three years ago and completed a number of elements within five sections. These included community action, where Emily volunteered at Launceston Foodbank, personal skills where she ran the half marathon for Children’s Hospice South West and her outdoor challenge, where she travelled from the bottom to the top of Cornwall on a variety of transport.
Ms Boucher said: “We are very proud of Emily and her amazing achievement.”
Launceston District Guides are travelling to Switzerland in April, for which they have been fundraising for six months.
