MORWENSTOW went into their last match of the season on Friday evening looking to end on a winning note as they had not secured a win in the previous six games, writes Anna Francis.

Morwenstow's first chance was when Phil Horton's good work down the left wing saw him putting a cross into Liskeard's gaping open goal but there wasn't a Mo'Stow striker on hand to tap the ball in. Ashley Thomas too was unlucky not to score when his shot went wide.

The only goal of the first half came from Liskeard in the 38th minute when Alex Martin's curled shot from 25 yards saw the back of the net.

Right on the stroke of half time Nathan Bonney's goal was disallowed for allegedly being offside preventing the greens from equalising before the break.

The second half saw Morwenstow fight back, with a bit more conviction and belief. The game was level in the 68th minute with a header from Phil Horton. Aaron Gregory was in top form to keep the Liskeard strikers at bay.

Morwenstow took the lead when Nathan Bonney put an excellent ball in the box for Phil Horton to score with a diving header. Morwenstow continued to pressure the home team but their adventurous play caught them out in the final minutes when Ben Kitto headed in the equalising goal from a Darryl Johnson cross.
