LAUNCESTON Carnival Committee has launched its search for the town’s 2017 Carnival Royalty.

The choosing ceremony will take place in the Eagle House Hotel on July 14 at 6.30pm.

The carnival royalty competition will see the three lucky winners receiving trophies, presentation salvers, generous dress allowances and flowers.

This year the committee is seeking candidates for Senior Queen, Senior Queen Attendant and Carnival Princess, or Carnival prince.

Entry forms are available now from the carnival website www.launceston-carnival.co.uk or from Launceston Tourist Information Centre in the White Hart Arcade, or contact Lisa on 07759 201490.

Carnival chairman, Dave Gordon, told the Post: “We are very fortunate in that we always seem to get a good response to our Royalty competition each year and naturally we hope we will get a similar response again this year.”

This year’s carnival will be on Saturday, October 14 and preparations are going well to hopefully produce a great parade, plus one or two new features for 2017.

Anyone who would be interested in joining the Carnival Committee, or helping on Carnival day can speak to Dave on 01566 774706.
