CAMELFORD?Chapel recently hosted a beautiful wedding exhibition — celebrating the role marriage and everything associated has to play in peoples' happiness.
Showcased were wedding dresses, hats, gowns, suits, waistcoats and various other accessories — including photos from the ladies' own big days.
Event organiser, Anne Cook, said: "In spite of what is said marriage is still very popular. Some of them last a short time and many of them last a very long time. Because we live longer there are lots more golden and even diamond weddings — this is certainly a reason to celebrate.
"We set out to do just that; celebrate marriage and all the love and caring, the fun and joy, the children and grandchildren and even the worry and sadness that make up the life of a couple. Because we are a Christian community we give thanks to God for his many blessings."
The exhibition was a great success and there were some lovely displays — especially that of Hilary Smeeth nee Rogers and Kirsty Wesley who reflected upon three generations of family marriage.
