BUDEHAVEN School is very fortunate to have The Haven Integrated Health Centre on-site.

This is a unique school-based health centre, which offers a wide range of health and emotional well-being services and support specifically to local children and young people.

For the sixth year in a row, The Haven has received a Level 3 award, from Savvy Kernow of Cornwall Health Promotion Service, for the high quality of services it is able to offer.

Savvy Kernow has developed a set of quality standards, which services in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly must prove they can meet. Once a service meets Level 3, it has done everything it can to ensure young people feel welcomed and supported and met the quality criteria set out in the national Department of Health paper ‘You’re Welcome — Making Health Services Young Person Friendly’ with the following issues addressed:

1. Confidentiality and consent

2. Child protection

3. Easy to access

4. Welcoming environment

5. Staff trained on issues young people face

6. Clear publicity

7. Signposting to other services

8. Involvement of young people in service design

Lizzie Brock, The Haven coordinator, said: “ We are absolutely delighted to receive this award again. This is in recognition of the high quality services, which The Haven is able to offer children and young people, as a result of successful multi-agency collaboration.”

Young people and parents are welcome to contact Lizzie Brock, The Haven co-ordinator, if they would like any further information about services on 01288 350864.
