A NUMBER of local residents attended a public consultation event at the Kings Head, Five Lanes, concerning the dualling of the A30 road between Temple and Carblake, on Friday.

Mr Craig Dowler, the Altarnun Parish chairman, said: "It looks OK but we must make sure the slip roads are less sharp. Don't forget Plusha Junction."

Mr Rob Carlyon said it was "very good, the sooner the better."

Mark Arlott, Cornwall Council major project senior officer, said he was pleased to meet the local residents and have their support for the project.

Phil Parsons, Cornwall Councillor for Altarnun, thanked the landlady of the King's Head, Mandy Bettison, for hosting the consultation event and said he was pleased with the turn-out and listening to heard people's opinion. He hoped the Plusha Junction would form part of a future improvement scheme.

Previously, Cornwall Councillors Mick Martin and Phil Parsons met with Cllr Dowler at Bolventor to discuss and promote the A30 dualling consultation.

Cllr Dowler welcomed the proposed dualling which would make a vast improvement for Altarnun parishioners adding, "Traffic can queue as far back as Plusha Junction and beyond. Bolventor residents have to put up with queuing traffic during the holiday season and I hope they will get on with the job as quick as possible and then they can start on Plusha Junction. This junction is desperate need of improvement."
