TWO years after taking over Tintagel's Visitor Information Centre, members of the parish council and a group of local volunteers are busy preparing for an anticipated influx of visitors keen to make the most of the Easter break.
The visitor information centre, which was bought by the parish council in May 2012, was one of the first devolution agreements developed jointly by Cornwall Council and a local council.
The move has proved incredibly successful, with the visitor centre remaining in place and now totally-self supporting — thanks to dedicated support from volunteers and local businesses.
With the centre now looking forward to its third season under the ownership of the parish council, Jeremy Rowe, Cornwall Council's cabinet member for devolution and localism, visited the village last Wednesday and saw the success of the venture at first hand.
