ST GILES entrepreneur Wilfred Emmanuel-Jones, otherwise known as 'The Black Farmer' is letting other local businesses in on some of the secrets of his successful company. The founder of The Black Farmer food brand will be speaking at Explore Export in Bristol on June 30. The event is organised by UK Trade and Investment (UKTI) to help businesses across Cornwall and the South West learn more about the opportunity that trading overseas could

present for them.

One of the most successful recent food launches in the UK and a real local success story, The Black Farmer produces sausages, bacon and

chicken that are 100 per cent British and gluten-free. 'Poor boy done good' Emmanuel-Jones will be speaking at the event on finding opportunity through diversity.

Wilfred commented: "To survive, especially in the current economic

climate, local companies need to know how to spot an opportunity. Scratch the surface of a problem and you can often reveal something of real benefit, but you need to know where to look. Export represents a real opportunity for many local businesses, but most don't know where to start. The Explore Export event in Bristol will be a great place to find out about all the grants and great advice you can get, as well as to meet people-in-the-know from 20 or so countries."

The exhibition will provide a 'one-stop shop' for businesses looking for regional support to develop their international trade prospects. The event has already attracted a growing number of commercial officers from embassies, High Commissions and consulates across the globe, who will be on hand to answer questions about accessing the market.

The countries to be

represented include: China, Hong Kong, SE Asia, Oman, Mexico, North America, Africa, Norway, Austria, France, Spain, Italy, Denmark, Holland, Belgian, Poland, Bulgaria, Croatia, Slovenia, Ireland, Russia, Turkey, Greece, Cyprus, The Baltic States, Australasia, the Caribbean and Sweden.
