The Devon County Councillor for Holsworthy Rural has given his thanks to his local community for the way in which they are supporting each other in these difficult times.
Cllr Barry Parsons (Cons) said: “I would like to say a massive ‘thank you’ to all involved with our communities given the very significant efforts in helping one another and responding to the challenges posed by the Coronavirus outbreak.
“I know, personally, and from the feedback and interaction I have already encountered that there is much going on right across Holsworthy Rural and I am deeply appreciative. Please, too, be assured that I am in regular contact with health and care services as well as the county council in efforts to look after those especially vulnerable in our communities. I know, for example, through our own hospital at Holsworthy just how much it means to staff and members of the public to have individuals so committed to helping one another.”
He said he has reached out to local town and parish councils and is keen to prioritize funding available to him him order to ‘assist in projects undertaken locally’.
He continued: “Both in the short-term and long-term there are going to be some challenges ahead and many practical issues to be tackled. We will meet this challenges together. I am a great believer as many know in doing things together. This is a scenario which is especially so.”
Cllr Parsons asks that people make use of the council’s dedicated web page which provides specific advice in areas such as closure of educational settings, care homes, vulnerable and older people, business and employers, community and the voluntary sector, public transport, and the well-being of residents.
