I AM WRITING on behalf of the Meningitis Trust to say thank you and congratulations to everyone who took part in this year's Toddle Waddle, helping to raise £200,000.
The event is a sponsored waddle for the under 5s; raising vital sponsorship for those affected by meningitis as well as awareness of the disease.
Since it began 10 years ago, Toddle Waddle has raised more than £2.3 million, an amazing amount of money, and a sum which is invaluable to the trust. We'd also like to thank HiPP Organic for its support of the event, as well as Usborne books, which donated books for children's prizes.
Over half the reported cases of meningitis are in the under 5s, so Toddle Waddle was created in order to engage this age group, their parents, grandparent, nursery teachers and childminders.
At the Meningitis Trust we offer practical and emotional support to anyone affected by the disease, and we are dedicated to raising awareness of the disease and its symptoms. We are reliant on voluntary donations to continue our work.
We are always looking for people to help with the work of the trust by getting involved in fundraising — whether it's taking on a once in a lifetime challenge, or holding a sponsored walk, you can be assured that your efforts will make a huge difference to thousands of people across the UK who are living with the impact of the disease.
