A?ROW has broken out over whether or not Launceston needs a town centre manager after Tesco's offered to foot the bill of £50,000. Launceston Town Council says it does not believe that a town centre manager is needed at this point in time. But, the town's Chamber of Commerce says it is "appalled" at the council's statement made without consulting the local shops and businesses in Launceston. Tesco's offer of £50,000 was made as planners faced the decision of whether or not to grant the green light for an expansion of the company's Tavistock Road store.
