IT HAS been 50 years since the doors of Northcott Tearoom, Bude, opened, and owner Margaret Frost has no intention of closing them yet.

The tearoom can be found near Northcott Beach, on the very edge of Mrs Frost's family farm.

She said: "It was my mum that set it up Louise Pridham, in 1962. I have been working with her over the years, she died seven years ago and I continued with the tearoom.

"I don't know if I'm very professional but I have gained faithful customers, that are not just customers but have become my friends."
