AROUND 150 veterans enjoyed a tea party organised by the Ross branch of the Royal British Legion.
Entertainment was provided by the Cinderford Academy Band and the Ross Choristers and the afternoon finished with everyone joining in with a rousing chorus of Land and Hope and Glory.
This was the second annual tea party organised by the branch and ex-service people, partners and carers were invited to the Larupperz Centre.
The oldest veteran was aged 96 and there were four others in their 90s and several in their 80s.
Branch secretary, Margaret Jones said: "If anything it was even more successful than last year and I've had so many people say how much they enjoyed it and are looking forward to next year."
The next event being held by the Ross branch is a commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the Gallipoli campaign.
An exhibition and entertainment will be held on Sunday, August 9 at the Market House to mark the centenary of the arrival of the Herefordshire Regiment – which included many men from Ross and the Forest – in Turkey.
