The very popular out of hours GP Surgeries organised by Taurus Healthcare Ltd via Pendeen Surgery in Ross are set to continue for the immediate future.
Several readers contacted the Gazette with concerns that some of the hours are changing, which could mean that the service is about to finish. In fact a spokesman for Taurus reassured Ross Gazette readers that the service is continuing but hours will be 'tweeked' according to utilisation and demand. They said that the demand tends to be stronger on weekend afternoons rather than mornings.
Ross is a pilot scheme and the hours offered will be changed to suit the levels of demand as more patients use the service.
The service is customer led, in other words the Surgeries are open to give patients the availability of ?a GP or nurse at a time to suit them.
At the moment the hours are 6pm to 8pm weekdays and 8am to 8pm at weekends and Bank Holidays
If you want to book an appointment during the extended GP service call your local GP Surgery and they will refer you to the Taurus Hub.
Details of the appointment will be made available to the patient's regular GP. For more urgent appointments call 111 and ask for Taurus Healthcare. They will find you an appointment quickly with a local GP or Nurse. Please call 0800 121 7221 and not your surgery, if you need to cancel your appointment.
