AN appeal lodged to refute Torridge District Council's (TDC) decision against a 79m wind turbine in Holsworthy Beacon, has been won.
An application for a single 500kW wind turbine on land at Gearns Farm was approved by planning inspector Jill Kingaby, on behalf of the Secretary of State, on Wednesday, July 11.
The proposal was originally refused by the council on March 3, but Rob Paul of One Wind Renewables won his appeal against the decision, subject to conditions.
Included in the planning inspector's report, it stated that the wind turbine would 'provide substantive benefits generating electricity from renewable energy resources which would outweigh the harmful impacts'.
Mr Paul's separate appeal for an award of costs against TDC was refused by the planning inspector.
